Ready to Launch 🚀: The Hatch's Recipe for Hospitality Success in 2024

Multi-award-winning street food brand, The Hatch, reached out to Sugar Snap last year for help to launch their first ever brick-and-mortar store. They have been operating out of a couple of trucks and built a fantastic reputation for high level fast food. The hospitality industry is fiercely competitive, and success is often determined by how well a new venture captures the attention and loyalty of its audience – and The Hatch was no exception. With out-the-door queues, skyrocketing engagement on socials, and growing sales a couple of months on shows just how vital the first few days are. 

Let’s take a look at a few of the ingredients of our recipe for a successful launch:

Brand Fanatics: The Secret Sauce

Every successful business has its secret weapon: community. We often forget that social media is, in fact, social. A community of legitimate die-hard loyal fans, no matter how small, is worth more than a million followers who don’t engage with your content.

People no longer simply buy products; they buy purpose and experience. Recognising the power of community, influencers, and local brand enthusiasts is key to any successful launch!

We orchestrated a Friends & Family event and a PR party before the store's grand opening. There were a handful of big social media names there, but mostly local business owners and key community members. Live music, freebies, and a first taste of the menu all coincided to give an incredible ‘first’ experience. We utilised and rode the wave of love for The Hatch, channelling a buzz and excitement around the brand that extended far beyond the opening event and spilled out over socials. 

Stand Out Content: A Feast for the Eyes

Weeks before launch, we started posting killer content to socials. In a world where looks are *almost* everything, you can’t escape the fact that incredible photographs and video content go a long way in encouraging sales! We opted to use real, unfiltered ‘dirty’ hands-on photography that leaves you craving for more. 

After all, you eat with your eyes!

Opening Day Festivities

Sometimes, the classics are unbeatable. The Hatch is based on a modern diner experience, so we brought back a nostalgic touch to their launch party with a custom Spin The Wheel game, a DJ, and lots of opportunities to win freebies.

With a clear objective in mind – raising awareness of the new store, boosting social engagement, and growing their customer database – ‘Follow to Spin’ created a particularly fun brand experience with both digital and real-life engagement.
